Cornwall council need to improve the roads. We are not in 1904. This is a major UK destination and it needs a footpath to keep people safe and bays where people can pull in on the extremely narrow roads. Parking is a nightmare.. the council could do a park and ride scheme.
The shops are good with little boutique finds, welcoming and happy staff, Clean beaches and lovely busy atmosphere. The hotels are expensive but this reflects its a very nice destination.

A beautiful town. Extremely welcoming.
A beautiful town. Extremely welcoming. The shops were great with some wonderful local shops such as the Salcombe candle company, Salcombe Dairy chocolate and the wonderful Salcombe Gin! Whilst there we took part in Gin School to make our sun gin which was fantastic.
There are some great pubs serving delicious food too. We tried the Ferry Inn and had a lovely time. They gave a quiz on Thursday evenings which is great fun too!
Parking looked to be difficult, as with most small towns, we were lucky enough to have parking at the hotel. So I would recommend getting there early.
This was our first trip to Salcombe, we fell in love with it and can’t wait to go back.

Difficult to find initially , arrived hour later than expected due to sat nav .
The views amazing
Very relaxing place … nice vibe .
Beds really comfortable
Spa and massage very good
Breakfast good selection , although the portions varied daily .
Evening meal more choice for vegetarian
Might be nice to have a couple specials available
Mid morning coffee would be lovely to be offered a biscuit with it.
The staff were very pleasant and accommodating .
Would have liked the rooms cleaned earlier as it was 3pm and had to ask as my 91 year old mum liked to sit in her room in the afternoon.
Overall a great stay
Thank you .

We know Salcombe very well and have been going there for over 30 years. It's a great location to stay offering good facilities and access to beach/boating
opportunities. Day visits are possibly more problematic due to limited parking.

We used the park and ride service.
We used the park and ride service. We had to pay for the car park and bus, which is unusual. There was a gap between 13.10 and 15.00 which was a pain. The town is expensive and a good place to spend a day.

The Crab Shed Restaurant was excellent, the food was excellent and served by friendly helpful staff. The town itself was small but had good shops and a good bakery. Parking was easy, the streets were clean and the locals were friendly. However, beware of the Victoria Inn when considering accommodation it’s a place to keep clear of.
The location was the main reason for picking this hotel, as there are only two on South Sands. Very peaceful, and facing a stunning white sand beach but with Salcombe in easy reach. The hotel is really well appointed, beautiful furnishings and themed artwork, and the finish of all areas is excellent. Friendly helpful staff and good food. A free mini bus service into Salcombe - a real bonus in summer season, plus the water taxi service operating from the beach- therefore car use at a minimum.
Harbour Beach Club , Hotel & Spa is exceptional. The hotel is in a great location right by the beach, just a few minutes to a breathtaking hiking trail with great cliff and ocean views. The hotel was clean with beautiful art and interior. Majority of the stuff were lovely, especially front of house the red head (forgot the name) who checked us in was exceptional. Also loved the ferry right by the beach that took us to Salcombe town with great views from the water.
Beautyfull house and room, wonderfull decoration, very clean, wonderfull hostess and host (helped us with adjusted breakfast (food intolerances) and with our car break down during a public holiday), lovely garden view, parking space for our rental car on the premiss, close to a local pub and supermarket and bus stop. Wonderfull place to stay over for one or 2 nights on (y)our way e.g. to the beach in the south. Our best bed and breakfast in the UK so far.
Hotel right on the coast path with some wonderful walks from the door. Room was spacious and comfortable and included an excellent drinks trolley with glasses as well as tea/coffee tray complete with Tunnocks tea cakes! Dining here was a highlight, breakfast of local fare with spectacular sea views, both lunch and dinner were superb. The nearby beach was gorgeous and not busy as there isn't much parking nearby. A haven for nature lovers.
Having stayed in Salcombe numerous times a year over the past 15 years, this apartment exceeded all of our expectations. The interiors are beautiful and every appliance, bed, towel even down to the hand wash is of the highest quality. The location is perfect and we loved that we could make use of all the hotel facilities and then retreat back to the privacy, space and comfort of Four The Reach.
This is an outstanding hotel. a fantastic setting, spotless and flawless. the food is outstanding and the staff are friendly and attentive.
I would recommend Gara Rock to everyone.
I have been lucky to stay in some fantastic hotels but Gar Rock is now my favorite.
Ideal location for Salcombe and the Beautiful Beaches and Coves. Great area for walking. We stayed in the Garden View Apartment which was very clean, furnished to a high standard and very comfortable. Jo is a fantastic and very helpful host! Many Thanks
The hotel was in a beautiful location, we enjoyed a lovely view of the sea whilst enjoying the hotel's excellent restaurant. The rooms were spacious and decorated thoughtfully with attention to detail. The staff were kind, knowledgeable and helpful.
Location is perfect on South Sands - front row seats with a stunning view.
Room was clean, up to date and spacious with excellent bathroom and good in room facilities.
Parking was excellent and very convenient - a must in Salcombe
We love a property with a balcony and a sea view. Clean and well equipped house with parking too which is a real bonus in Salcombe. At our last stay we requested a table and chairs out on the balcony and this time there was one-great!
Excellent location and well equipped. The apartment was comfortable and light. It was in the centre of Salcombe and opposite a great bakery, so everything was very convenient.
The overall hotel location, staff, views far exceeded expectation.
The attention to detail was excellent and made this stay for my wife's birthday feel extremely special
Excellent location in the middle of Salcombe. Extremely friendly and helpful staff made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was superb. Thanks to everyone.
