Sun-drenched and laidback, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.
The city centre has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.
Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.
The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialities such as western rock lobster and chilli mussels. There is also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from the Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.
Perth is a souless boring backward red neck town. Its dead as a door nail most nights. Just as expensive as Singapore but not even close to being as vibrant and interesting. Give it a miss at all costs if you can.

There is a general opinion that Perth is the most isolated city in the world. Maybe geographically, but one doesn't feel that because Perth is a vibrant city, with a selection of great shops, wonderful restaurants, cafes and bars and the views to die for! There is so much to do for any visitor and a short drive away will take you to some spectacular nature phenomenon. The beaches all around Perth can compete with the best in the world, and all of them offer great eateries in the neighbourhood. The public transport is great and free within the city. A double-decker tourist bus is a great start to the trip and recommended.

Obviously as the State captial, central to all events and tourist sites. Clean and relatively small in comparison to state captials around Australia. A good starting point for visits to Western Australia.

Clean city with plenty to offer all.
Clean city with plenty to offer all. Greenery with some beautiful trees and kings park is a must for a view of the city and river. From the metro south a short drive or walkable if you’re a bit fitter, there is a lovely ferry into the city.

Perth is a great city .
Perth is a great city . But don't use booking .com or stay at crown plaza . This hotel should be 0 star not 4 as stated in booking .com
No top sheet duvet stained parking on street if any available chairs broken and dangerous to sit on . TV remotes held together with non fitting screw .watch your hand
Start off I was hit with $100 deposit after talk to staff day before with no mention.
There is only Foxtel sport and normal tv channels.
Bed is 2 single beds pushed together.
Wifi has limitations.
Room was basic and dirty. Curtains stains all over them and walls had body fluid staining.
First night I just felt dirty and uncomfortable.
Bath tub hot water only works. So no bath,
old rubber mat use in shower.
I stay at lot of hotels in Perth and you can do better then this hotel.
Our stay at Alex Hotel in Perth was truly amazing! Despite having to work during our stay, the hotel made it incredibly convenient with their excellent working space. They provided 24/7 access to snacks, croissants, and drinks, which kept us fueled and productive throughout the day. The combination of comfortable accommodations and a conducive work environment made our experience at Alex Hotel exceptional. Highly recommended for both work and leisure travelers!
The Perth Ibis is within a short walk from the train station and handy to bus service. The harbour and the shops are all within walking distance. My room was on the backside of the hotel and was very quiet. No traffic noise. The breakfast buffet was in keeping with all of the 4 star hotels I stayed at during this trip in Australia. Lots of options and they are happy to provide gluten-free bread for toast.
Very clean, modern hotel with nice street art prints. The location is convenient within the CBD. The bedding is very comfortable. The room has a great selection of tea and coffee pods, with milk in the mini fridge. Nice, quality shampoo, conditioner, and bath products.
Easy to order Uber Eats delivery if you arrive late or don’t feel like going out for food and don’t want to pay room service prices.
I’ve stayed previously in a two bedroom apartment and have just stayed in the one bedroom. So spacious with all the amenities you could need. So central and easy to get into the city. Compared to staying in hotels which don’t have half the facilities these apartments do, you’re really getting your money’s worth. I’ll be staying here every time I come to Perth now. Thank you Zappeion!
Convenient location with an IGA and take-away food options nearby. The bus stop to the CBD directly outside the hotel was handy. The airport shuttle service was excellent. Kids loved the pool, which was clean and great for cooling off after a hot day in Perth. The 2 bedroom apartment was comfortable and clean enough for our needs. Having kitchen facilities was also handy.
spacious apartment; large balcony; two bathrooms: perfect for family with three children. Short walk to the beach front. Bus stop immediately at the hotel; Supermarket and Restaurants, Cafés nearby. perfect bus service to Perth City or nearest train station each ~10 minutes during daytime; each 30 minutes later in the evening until midnight.
The hotel location was great. just on the edge of the Central sightseeing, it's just a 5 minutes away from shopping area including food, but not too crowd. The hotel was well maintained. super clean, like new. the access to public transport is excellent, CAT bus is just in front of the hotel. Perth central station is just 5 minutes away.
The room felt larger than your typical budget city hotel and was very well-equipped (kitchenette, microwave, laundry services, work desks) which made our stay in Perth easy and enjoyable. The staff are lovely and helpful and the hotel is conveniently located allowing us to walk to the quay and anywhere else in the city.
The King room with spa was beautifully made up, the building is stunning and the hosts went above and beyond expectations. This was the best hotel experience I have had and will definitely be making this our go to in Perth.
Highly recommend if you want to treat yourself or someone you love to something special.
I booked the room because the hotel is close to the airport, I had to stay in Perth overnight and being close to the airport was important for me. The shuttle bus is a great service and made it so much easy for me to get to the hotel and back to the airport next day 👍
I got a free upgrade to stay in a room in Quest (West End) apartments hotel. The hotel was bigger in size and located in the city center. So going to work or shopping was very easy. The amenities were good and satisfactory.
Great location , close to hotels and restaurants in Northbridge. also walking distance to the Perth train station. Continental breakfast was good although I would advise to get there early before some choices are gone.
Staff were very good. Comfortable enough but a bit expensive but that's perth. I could have had a luxury hotel room in Bangkok for the same price with breakfast included. Perth hotels are over priced and over rated.
